I have my stamps ready for the stamp swop organised by @sarahashfordstudio at the Festival of Quilts. In fact these are the ones I made for last year and I never got to use them as I was so busy teaching. Hopefully I will have better luck this year. Have just finished making some fabric gift boxes which will become a class later in the year. It’s so good to be able to give a gift in a handmade fabric box which can be reused over and over again. I’ve made one in Christmas fabric but need to make a few more! #fabricgiftbags #fabricgiftbox

Having a very productive day in Daventry on the @stitchtopiauk weekend retreat. We have had an appliqué day working on tropical blooms. For many it’s been the first time they have tried appliqué so have learned a new technique and for others they have been enjoying the uninterrupted sewing time. So good to have some time to stitch. My teaching schedule has been busy so with all the prep and the actual teaching there hadn’t been much time for sewing but yesterday I stitched four Dresden Plate blocks. Some great finishes from students on my Friday Patchwork class @poppypatch2015 First up is Jill’s Flower Market quilt in a delicate blue colour palette followed by Julie’s quilt stitched in a beautiful floral colour way. Helen has finished her selvedge cushion top which is ready for quilting. Mandy has finished her selvedge cushion complete with piping and zip and then made some very clever selvedge bunting! Jill has also finished her Tropical Blooms seat covers. Fabulous work everyone. #patchworkshop #patchworks

I picked up this recently released book by @sophieclairewrites and I’m itching to start reading it. A summer romance set in France. There is always a little reference to patchwork somewhere in Sophie Claire’s books so I will be on the look out once I dive in! #romancebook #quiltreference
